Today I looked at the sales numbers from one of my sales funnels I am managing. Over 50% of the people who purchased the product used the discount code I gave them in a previous email that had an expiration date on it. I was totally surprised. This goes to show that offering discount codes to your community is a way to increase sales significantly. I am now looking to go back to other sales funnels and add discount codes in all of them.
Remember though its not only about the discount code. It’s also about the urgency set in the discount code. For example, this discount code is expires in 7 days. I have a three emails that remind them that the discount code will be expiring. Most people purchase the product at the last day before the product discount expires. We as humans love to wait until the last minute to take action. It’s in our nature.
Every wonder what happens to the Shark Tank investments after the show? We look no further. ABC just launched a new show called Beyond The Tank. Here is a summary of how the show works:
“Beyond The Tank is a three-week event from the producers of the Emmy-winning reality series, Shark Tank. The one-hour episodes of Beyond the Tank, from Sony Pictures Television and United Artists Media Group, will feature the captivating and surprising outcomes after the Sharks strike a deal with the entrepreneurs on Shark Tank. As the Sharks travel across America to mentor the entrepreneurs, assess the businesses and provide their industry expertise — to make a profit — audiences will realize the challenges and intrepid negotiations are never over. Watch as the Sharks roll up their sleeves to help their entrepreneurs make the tough decisions that hopefully lead to success, growth and profits.
The Sharks are: billionaire Mark Cuban, owner and chairman of AXS TV and outspoken owner of the 2011 NBA championship Dallas Mavericks; real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran; “Queen of QVC” Lori Greiner; technology innovator Robert Herjavec; fashion and branding expert Daymond John; and venture capitalist Kevin O’Leary.
Audiences familiar with the compelling ups and downs of the negotiations will be further engaged in the drama that takes place after the entrepreneurs’ appearance on Shark Tank. What lies in the aftermath of their investment? Did a promising deal turn sour or launch a million dollar profit margin?

We will learn more about the entrepreneurs’ personal journeys as well as their struggles and triumphs as they persevere to pursue the American dream.
