I had the opportunity to hear Dan Levin, COO of Box, speak at a Babson Alumni event last night in San Francisco. Dan gave a very inspiring talk about the most valuable asset we have. Time. If you think about it, how we spend our time is the only thing we can truly control. He spoke about how many people he interacts that don’t understand the concept and value of time.
His talk made me think about how I spend my time and what is important to focus on. Sometimes you need to take time out of the day to just figure out what you are solving for and what is important. Our days are filled with so many distractions and emails that we are continuously playing catch up and nothing important ever gets done.
After hearing Dan speak, I now am going to take time out of my day to visit what is important so I can spend my time more wisely working on the important things. This means that the first thing I do when I wake up is to ask myself 1. What is important? 2. How am I doing? 3. What should I do to get better? And then iterate this entire process.
What are you solving for?
