Today I looked at the sales numbers from one of my sales funnels I am managing. Over 50% of the people who purchased the product used the discount code I gave them in a previous email that had an expiration date on it. I was totally surprised. This goes to show that offering discount codes to your community is a way to increase sales significantly. I am now looking to go back to other sales funnels and add discount codes in all of them.
Remember though its not only about the discount code. It’s also about the urgency set in the discount code. For example, this discount code is expires in 7 days. I have a three emails that remind them that the discount code will be expiring. Most people purchase the product at the last day before the product discount expires. We as humans love to wait until the last minute to take action. It’s in our nature.
